Newbie with Sporasub One 90cm

Hello All,

I just purchased a Sporasub One 90cm speargun and I am really excited about it. I've always been a fisherman and always wanted a speargun...the time has come! Whether its back home in Virginia Beach or NC in the merky water, or down in South Florida at my family's condo, I am going to look forward to hunting. I go to Nicaragua every year to surf and fish and cant wait to use it there too!

I will be asking you all many questions as I learn more about this sport and the equipment. I am currently researching how to rig a new shooting line and trying to determine if I need a shock cord. Dont ask why I need to replace the shooting line already lol.

Anyways...glad to join the community. Is there an app for this site?

Welcome babbabooey Checkout the Spearfishing Beginner Area for info. on rigging (a muzzle bungee of some kind is generally a good idea but not essential). There are some sticky threads there that are well worth reading.

Thanks! Ive done some research since that post and had a great time off north miami beach over thanksgiving. Didnt find any large fish but got some successful target practice in which has gotten me hooked! Realized i didnt beed a bungee with a reel setup. All good there and this gun is super accurate.

Things on shopping list are sporasub mysitc mask, fins, and a belt.
