As the thread title says, I am looking to buy a sling gun for reef/rocky shore spearfishing and would like to hear from you what's the best for what I'm looking for. I was originally going to get a pneumatic one from either Mares or Cressi but I'd rather stick to a sling gun because I like them better.

-The gun has to be around 90cm-110cm(33''-43'') and powered by at least 2 bands.
-The wood has to be teak or mahogany since those are to my knowledge the best there is out there for this purpose.
-The gun will be used at a depth from 20'-40' max.
-The money I can spend on this is $300 at max.(can add a few tens if it's really worth it).

I will be freediving and and I will be hunting for striped sea bass, cod and anything like that in the Mediterranean.

I really like the Riffe Standard series 43''(109cm) but it's a little expensive for what I'm looking for, even though I know a Riffe it's worth every buck for what you get.

Anyways, please let me know what you think would be the best choice. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Hi
Im a scottish spearo on the east coast, i have a few guns, my favorite by far is my riffe euro series gun which is fantastic, not cheap but its like you said it's worth every penny go for the riffe if you have the cash you won't regret it.

hey i know you said something about wood but if you ever want to try a metal gun then i would highly recommend the seac sub x-fire. seac sub is a pretty decent brand. i had one of the assos but didnt like it. this gun on the other hand is the most accurate ive ever shot. it has a european muzzle and is a full railgun, the firing mechanism is laser cut and made from steel, the handle is unbelievable comfortable (ive heard people complain about recoil and i usually stay out for 5-6 hours and have had no such problem.) the gun is pretty quiet although ive seen quieter, it uses a 6.25mm speed shaft which is really quick. personally i use 2x 16mm i find its nice and powerful but still accurate. if you wanted you could use 2x 18s or 20mms if you wanted more power. i dont usually hunt really big fish but i think the fact that i consistenly pick of sandwhiting with head and spine shots zzz is a testomant to the guns accuracy. in australia these guns are about $275 for a 75cm or $350 for a 105cm although if you know where to go you can get a new 95cm for about $275:D
SEAC SUB - TWIN FIRE, X-FIRE
