Hey everybody here on Deeperblue, I am soooo excited i just had to share. I have been freediving now for quite a while and somehow got myself in a rut of only ever getting to 71 metres dynamic with bifins and lately it's even been a struggle getting to beyond 60 odd but today ...... i managed a good 75 metres with a monofin which i have only just started using. I love it and it feels so much better than my bifins. Because of my lack of experience with a monofin my technique was no so flash and my turns were even worse but hey i did it, i conquered my little hurdle of 'going beyond' and managed a good 75. I was going quite fast the last 1/2 length but i have to say if i wasn't going so fast and if i wasn't so close to the left side of the end of the pool then i reckon i could of turned and at least glided a little bit more. I came up absolutely fine so i know there is more in the tank yet and am looking so forward to progressing from here. It's funny cause i was told today " you can do this" and "you have been able to do this for about a year now" that i actually can believe it. It's that 'head' thing - mind over matter and all that. The 1st two attempts were quite sad but i stopped after that and just relaxed at the end of the pool for about 5 minutes with my eyes closed and gave myself a little pep talk and just knew that it was time - time for me to overcome anything so i went for it and i got what i wanted and am so glad i did because now i know that i can even go further and if you knew me you would know that this is a huge achievement for me. Thankyou to the people (you know who you are) that have helped me get there.

congrats!!!! not that im one of those "know who they are" peeps, but its always good to hear when people are excited about pb's!!!!:friday

good luck on goin for 80m!

I remember when I first hit my personal best static of 3:01, after a previous 2:22. It's a great feeling, and I sure did have to push myself. Congrats on your new best, and good luck heading up to 80m!

I like your signature quote by the way :)

Thanks guys...it's always so nice to get positive feedback in any form. Today i outdid myself again and managed to pull off a 3.30 static which i am also proud of as that is something else i have been struggling with to get past 3ish so all in all it has been an awesome week. I do believe there is more in me yet.
