Hi.

Its very quiet about the new amazing Aeris F10 - the ultimate Freediving watch with lot things-we-want inside.

But its not out for sale yet? Does anyone have any info about this watch? If anyone owns one please share your toughts..

p

They haven't been released yet. The release keeps getting pushed back - it was suppose to launch months ago. They are having some problems with them - not exactly sure what.

I used the F10 in a competition with martin and it seemed very well constructed, easy to read. I can't comment on navigation as it was strictly the official depth gauge so had no need to mess with it. My D3 broke several months ago - and have been holding out for one, like many others on here, and all we can do is wait as it seems noone, not even aeris reps, know when this computer will hit retail..

Ah, thanks for the answer Will.

Shame, it seems like a nice watch indeed.

I can probably understand their hesitation though. They've gone through two recalls already for some of their products and I know how expensive a recall can get (I work in Quality Engineering). They want to make sure they have it right before they release it.

And from the hype and expectations everyone has of the watch I'm also not surprised. Everyone expects a great watch so they're probably making sure that they deliver to expectation.

Hi.

Your absolutely right but why this silence? They could at least put some info at their site. Right now i don't even think it exists or will ever show up. I think this silent "strategy" is slowly killing the product.

Martin said he would be first to have them and at the best price - and that he would sent out an email when they came in stock. No word from him yet - so I think that shop is jumping the gun to try and get some preorders.

My guess to. Hoping for it just until christmas - great present to myself. : )

These guys have em listed for $399 - seems to be instock ???

Divers Discount Florida

Seems odd that nobody else has them though.

thats the old photo, and a very uncompetitive D4 level price. I am sure they don't have it in stock yet and that Doug Krauss (DB member) will let us know when it is really out. Godspeed.

no software issues just bits for the housing thats pretty much all that is holding it back.

Log software is pretty well finished as well.

I wrote to Doug Krause regarding the release date, It appears a matter of days rather than weeks now;

Hello Doug,

Could you please give the fine people of the DeeperBlue forum an update on the development and/or ETA of the F10?

Thanks alot,
Doug Krause 04 september om 2:38

Hi frank - don't have a ship date until our sister company moves them over to our side of the building. I am hearing that it may be within days.

Anyone know if this watch is meant for day to day use?

I am in the market for a watch and I'd want one that can handel a bunch of tasks. Day use / Possible Training (Heart Rate Monitor) / Freediving of course :).

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

dual time mode, date, day of the week, alarm for those early mornings, back light, count down timer, chronograph. but no heart rate monitor but everything needed for free diving.

mine hasnt left my wrist since the second test sample arrived back in may.

so as a day to day unit it is fine.

DD

DD, are you allowed to share some detailed specs? I read somewhere about multiple depth alarmes, time alarms, cronograph in dive mode? I want to know everything! :)

hey Giobbi

yep 3 depth alarms, dive time alarm surface time interval and adjustable alarm. shows elapsed diev time, temp, max depth, current dpeth etc during the dive.

havent tried to see if the stopwatch works during a dive.... but not sure why you would want to as the elapsed dive time is already shown. but does have a chronograph that can be used on the surface for example.

has pretty much everything needed, with the a couple of small VERY specialist requests:
- open software
- training planner
- dive graph (but does have real time dive playback)

DD

Hi DD, thx for the reply.

Crono during dive i think would be great when you do saftydives, control over my dive and the safty one.

Do you know the sample rate?

More question if you can bare with me : ):
- What do you mean with open software(free?)? Only Windows i suppose (Im a Apple guy : )).
- How do you transfer the data to comp, USB (Bluetooth would be a dream. Or if Aeris use the iPhone API to transfer directly to my iPhone : ))?

The display looks lovely, is the backlight strong enough (Love my D3 but the light is weak and i can't hear it under water, think my depthlarm may be broken)? Good sound alarm?
- Battery is user replaceable (2032?)?

Thx again.

p

like i said the chrono still works on the surface so can still time your dive to meet with the diver for safety, just doesnt work during an actual dive i dont think, never tried. but it DOES give you a dive timer which starts automatically when you leave the surface (as per D3)

sample rate is 1sec.

open software i mean that people can program there own software in the computor. basically a blank unit that a computor prgrammer can modify (too risky from a legality point of veiw)

no blue tooth for transfur just tradional USB download cable and Aeris dive manager on PC, doesnt work on mac yet.

back light is more than ample i can see it in the lake at 30+m (it is bitch black at this depth)

the alarm i fin quite easy to hear by comparison to my old D3.

the battery is user interchangable so is VERY cheap to do with a replacement battery only costing a couple of dollars in australia. (about the price of a bottle of coke) (Cr2430 battery)

hope that helps a bit ;)

DD

Great info - thx DD!

Looking forward to play with the api for this watch. : )
