Huge congratulations on breaking this ancient and long standing record. I have often said that the greatest records are not necessarily the deepest, but those that break the longest standing records.

Some of the longest standing world records were:
Men
STA 7'35" Andy LeSauce 1996
DYN 164m Andy LeSauce
CWT 75m Pelizzari 1997
CWT 81m LeMaster 1999

Women
DYN 150m Nathalie Descreac
CWT 70m Tanya Streeter
VAR 122m Tanya Streeter
NLT 160m Tanya Streeter

Interestingly, Tanya's 70m constant weight dive withstood an enormous number of failed attempts to break it. Yasemin Dalkilic, Mandy Cruickshank, Annabel Briseno, all tried and failed to break it with dives in the 71-72m range (all three of them blacked out). It finally fell in 2004 when Mandy destroyed it with 78m, a truly historic dive itself. Thus, the 70m record lasted for 3.5 years, the longest standing constant weight world record by any man or woman since the beginning of AIDA. And as a national record it stood for almost 9 years!

Congrats again to Erin!
