[News] Herbert Nitsch Announces New No-Limits Attempts

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I noticed some compressed air tanks being installed in the bottom half, what is the function of those?

Does Herbert have a sort of airbucket above his head that will be emptied when he pushes a button, hits the end, or remotely?

How does this mystery sled work?

i would imagine that the tank, is used to displace the water within the upper cone when herbert has reached the bottom, this would quickly and draastically increase bouyancy allowing for a VERY quick ascent from extreme depth, i'm assuming this is to reduce the time spent below 200m. no doubt there will be a variable speed control for ascent which will come into effect as he approaches "shallower depths" and reduce the volume of air within the come to slow the ascent.

mind you pure speculation on my side part.

I think your guess is right - I remember reading somewhere that the HD polyurethane was causing issues (loss of buoyancy, need for too much weight). So guess they went back to a hollow CH that fills with air.
