Natalia Molchanova, the Russian FreeDiving star, completed a new Women's World Record in Static by comleting a 7min20sec attempt.


This new World Record was set at the Russian FreeDiving Championships and beats her previous world record of 7min1...

she also set a new mark in the DNF with a magnificent performance of 134m but got penalties for grabbing the borderline of the pool before surfacing. so no valid new WR... Wait for more extraordinary news tomorrow *DYN... The competition is great...

Russian seconds are slightly longer than the standard ones - just like Russian miles (7.5km). Since the childhood I've been taught that in Russia (resp. in the USSR) everything is bigger and better (resp. the biggest and the best), so it certainly must be true. This case only confirms it.

Or maybe because Russians use Julian calendar :D

Still, it is amazing performance and I congratulate to Natalia too :)

When training with Aharon Solomon's earlier this year, we discussed how the Russians were going to start destroying the current WR's in all freediving disciplines - seems as though his predictions are coming to pass.
