Strange, in the news article referenced it says
They buried the carcass in an Orange Grove in LaBelle.
Seems like a waste, is it common practice among shark fishermen to just throw away the fish after the capture?
 
If they didn't take the meat before putting it in the ground; then they are disgusting. But I'm sure they did.
 
That's an hour from me here in Naples. I own lots in LaBelle, I hope they didn't ditch that bugger on one of my mine!!!

You never know. I did some digging on my lot in Broward County, and found... well, this is a family website.
