We hit a couple of spots in the 60'+ range...bottom temps in the high 50s and there were fluke everywhere!! We had at least 40 fluke boated with the majorityof them being in the 6 lb and up range:

Up until July 11th we hadn't seen any of the summer flounder out on the wrecks but they suddenly appeared nearly everywhere on the 16th.

If there are any NJ, PA, NY divers here and would like to get in on the good times there is an OUTLAW OPEN BOAT both this Sunday & Monday (July 31 & Aug. 1). You can email me for the details.

Do you know the difference between winter & summer flounder??

Summer flounder are also known locally as fluke. Flat fish with a mouthful of teeth and they can get very large!!! Those 2 in the pics are 8 lbs & 10 lbs of terrific eating!

Got 3 of the flatties (5 - 8 - 10 lbs and in that order) in the first 12 minutes of my dive.
