Kuopio Diving Club hosts Finnish freediving nationals in pool disciplines 12th and 13th of May in Kuopio, Finland. The event is also open for foreign divers who will compete in the international series Northern Apnea Games 2012. Maximum of 10 international divers will be accepted in the order of registration. Finnish divers will compete in National Championship and are as well included in the international series. Instructions for registration and detailed information about the event can be found from the official website in the beginning of March.
Static breath hold (STA) will open the competition on Saturday May 12th and dynamic apnea without fins (DNF) and with fins (DYN) will be battled on Sunday May 13th in the respective order. All disciplines will be held in a 25 m pool and competition follows the latest version of AIDA International rules. In the national and international series ranking is based on total points from all three disciplines. The head judge of the competition is Kimmo Lahtinen.
