Good morning all.
Does anyone have information or contact details for proper free dive nose clips (similar to the Paradisio range). I have heard that there is another brand available from Germany, but can't find anything on the web. Any ideas???

Hi Kurt!

I see you are in South Africa... noseclips are hard to come by in SA... but I am in Egypt at the moment and can hustle up one for you if you're keen, will ba back in SA 1 May.
Where are you?

About noseclips:
Firstly they all cost the same, plus minus.

There is the German one- which a friend of mine used to sell, can find out if he still does.
Then there is the Paradisia.
And then there is a new one made by Martin Stepanek's organisation, I think, or if it's PFI...?
Both the Paradisia and the PFI/Martin one I can get here in Dahab. Around 35€.
I will find out whether the German one is in circulation at the moment...

I have just had a frustrating noseclip week trying to dive no mask only noseclip and it just leaked and leaked, I had just bought a paradisia... I was close to glueing sand-paper onto it!! And then I went back to my German one that I wasn't happy with for several reasons but have doctored, and it works.. whereas my buddy is diving with a paradisia, no leaking...
So it all just boils down to unique noses!

Let me know if I can be of any help!

All the best,
Hanli

Howsit, PFI sells nose clips for around 35$ US. I would buy 2 if they are so hard to come by in S.Africa. Mine is in the mail so i cant say much about performance yet,but they have been re-designed.
Cheers

Good morning Hanli

Anything is hard to come by in SA, as far as freediving equipment goes.
I am JHB based, so it makes it even more difficult to come by.

I have recently started training with Trevor Hutton, and am making some pretty good progress, looking to get competative by next year, and of course the right equipment makes a difference.

If you can pick up a set of nose clips for me (Paradisio or similar -whatever you recommend to be the best), I would really appreciate it.
I will be in Cape Town this week till Sunday, but I will make a plan
to pick it up from you in Cape Town at your convenience.

Also, I am looking at some monofins to start training with.
The Waterway Glide has come highly recommended, but it is a pain in the butt to try decide which one is most suitable, without actually "Test Driving" them...
Any ideas or suggestions???

Thanks so much

Kurt:)

unfortunately i cant compare the 2 brands since its near impossible to find paradisia around here...

Repost from another thread.

Note on nose clips. Different brands of noseclips close differently.

I have the Paradisia, FIT, and tried the snebel (the German) one. When each closes, the pads align to different angles. The Paradisia closes to a slight V shape, the FIT one is more parallel, and the snebel.com one in more like an inverted V. Get what I mean? Also, it seems different production batches vary from each other, at least for the Paradisia. For example, my Paradisia, when it closes, the nosepads are further away from each other as compared to another Paradisia I used. What I did, because mine was looser, was cut of round pieces of thick felt and glued them over the original nosepads. That helped brige the gap.

For me, with a tiny Asian nose, the Paradisia and FIT work best. The FIT one is super tight though, so I use the Paradisia more. The snebel one I've not touched (it's my mentor's anyway), as it's quite loose, making it useless for equalising.
