I saw this video last night and have noticed that Guillaume Nery is wearing a full mask (eye and nose) and he uses a paradisia noseclip above the mask...watch at the end of the dive

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3_pMTQbpi4]YouTube - Guillaume Néry -109m, JT13h France2 - part1[/ame]

How this works???? I mean how is he able to equalize his mask which seems that its not full of saline water when he pull it out..

what is the trick?

Answers:

1. The mask they show is not a full mask, just goggles. It has no nose pocket. Look more closely.

2. These goggles were not used for the deep dive. During the deep dive Guillaume uses no goggles at all. Just a nose clip.

I've actually tried putting a noseclip over a mask before to provide handsfree eq, but it just slipped off, maybe with something less slippery than a sphera it would work. You need some give so that you can flare your nostrils (sexy, I know) to eq your mask.

Stig used this system during his training for his CNF WR attempt in 200X. Still some glue with sand in left on an old Sphera of his for keeping the noseclip from slipping :)

Very best regards
H!

I wondered the exact same thing a while ago when I first saw this video. "Why is he wearing regular swimming goggles with a noseclip?" The goggles must be filled with water?
