Thats just not on :naughty
I saw something the other day that disturbed me a bit in a Checkers store close to where I live. The fish department were selling undersized white stumpnose, a very good eating fish, but at that size there could not have been much more than bones in the poor thing. It wasnt even 15cm long. Is fisherman and the general public in such a state of not caring that were starting to openly sell undersized fish that probably came in as bycatch in our supermarkets, what about protecting the environment for the generations to follow :rcard

cant say i ever looked at the fish section at a checkers store.......

We were walking past and I saw these 3 small fish lying in the ice bed. Looked at the tag and what do ya know white stumpnose. Told the lady behind the counter they were undersized and got this apologetic nervous laugh. Still waiting for a call back from the store manager though...

Maybe thats the way to go sands, I really cant even see how they could rationally sell that fish, it could not even be more than 300g. It would make a nice little fish cake probably...

dubios stuff :( was it the checkers down in Protea Heights i saw some stumpnose there the other day,, did'nt notice what size they were though....

Hey Guys,
I was looking around on the net and came across this image, they are philipinos (spelling) and apparently this kind of thing goes on quite regularly over there :(
I know the the indo's catch a lot of Whale shark, but they have been doing it for thousands of years the same way as the eskimos hunt Narwhale. I think it is horrible, in this day in age they shouldn't have to resort to that kind of harvesting of resources, surely?? :vangry  :vangry
