So there I was spearfishing near some rocks....

Long story short - I caught a decent sized fish and came home.

Logged on to DB, did a few searches.. got bummed out that there were two threads closed due to heated debates turned sour argument.

I'm a noobie compared to most here who, if you counted the amount of time diving, would assume grew gills and wore snorkels just for aesthetics.

Those two threads related exactly to everything that made up my day of spearing. I shant mention those threads because they might spark debate here..... So the thread I was going to write kind of shriveled away like a man in cold water.

I decided to write 'Nothing'.. Haven't seen a thread on nothing here.. Even used the Search to look for "Nothing".

Thank you for allowing me to waste a couple minutes of your time with 'Nothing' roflroflrofl

What the heck is this?!

That wasn't a thread about nothing, it had SOME substance, it was indeed SOMETHING!! I'm hurt that in search of nothing I had to be subject to something.
Come by my town one day, and observe the local council workers so that you may truly gain an appreciation of what nothing really is.

So, what kind of fish did you get??

Caught a 23lb Sheephead... with a polespear. Wasn't very easy at all..

Ah well.. Some good dinner..

I was swimming by the rocks.. thinking if I saw a good sizer I hope I don't miss and screw up my slip-tip.

Then I saw something drifting in the darkness. Thought it a lump of kelp drifting to and fro so I watched it.. it was a massive fish. The vis was horrible so I had to get a little closer to ID it.... and spooked it. :head

Pissed off thinking it's gone forever, I went in the direction it took off. Peeking in the rocks hoping it might have hid in the rocks and not go into the deep underworld.. There was something dark and smooth in a small crevasse. I waited.. then I saw an eye looking at me. I knew what it was from it's signature white jaw and head shape. I looked at him and told him "You're Mine!" Aimed my spear.. waited..... breathing slowly. Then I felt the signs of hypothermia. Fought it off.

BOOM! Headshot. It wriggled and jerked in every direction it could. Grabbed it and climbed up onto the rocks.

I don't know where the skull is on these beasts to brain them properly so I bled it. Took it to my car and went home. Since I fish for food, this was more than enough for a while.

Podge: No way would I eat this all.. Family first. I quarter it and give each to a family member to cook their own way. That way we have 4 different dishes..
