I thought maybe we should make one thread where new spearo's like me would show their first catch. Let me be the first one to show off.

My gear is cheap and set up is simple-stupid. Cressi SL Star speergun with all original setup just like it came from the store, my older beat-up speedo 3/2mm wetsuit, knife, 2mm gloves, 5mm hood, Cressi Gara 3000 fins, some cheapo weight belt. And a mesh bag. Water in British Columbia is getting cold this time of the year, perhaps close to 50F, so my suit is way thin. Was catching mostly greenlings as you can see from pictures, some surf perch (? variety of) and rock cod. Small fish for advanced spearo's, but good eating nevertheless. Began fishing in late August and was bringing home fish since day one. I must say, spearfishing is fun beyond expectations and brings new meaning to my freediving.
