Yoooppiiiii!!!
It seems that we're finally getting rid of our Mr.B (not the english Mr. B., nor the american Mr.B., but the italian one). It's not a political issue for me: I'm just annoyed by all those Bees that make too much buzz...
;-)
(PS-in the last five years 54 shore areas were interdicted to spearfishing...)

Ok sorry for my broken english.
I mean those places where spearfishing is no more allowed, cause they became "protected marine areas" (AMP).
They should be a kind of nature's sanctuary, but every kind of fishing is still allowed except spearfishing. Ridiculuous. And diving is allowed only if you pay a toll to local private diving agencies which are entitled from the State to run the "AMP"s.
It's a sort of privatization of the sea going on, with ban for sperafishing just because we may harass the tank-diving business.
Why this? It's simple: politicians may claim that they created nature's sanctuaries; tank divers are happy because they make big business; environment activists are happy because spearfishing is evil. But "protected areas" are protected only from spearos, not from pollution and net fisheries. Typical italian thing.
I hope the new government will adopt a serious environmetal policy, not this "muppet show" we've had in the past 5 years..

Fat Chance! As my sainted grandfather said, "the south of Italy is a good place to be from!!"

yep, but also a good place for groupers :)
---my family is Tuscan, central-western Italy, great place for red wine and the fatherland of the greatest spearos ever (Bardi, Bellani, Mazzarri, ...spaghetti rofl )

We nou also have these Marine protected areas in South Africa MPA not AMP, nut still the same thing. The goverment wanted to make some money so now all scuba divers must have a permit to dive and all charter companies must have one to operate. The only problem is the permit is not ready yet so now you have to apply for exemption from a permit that does not exist!
At least all types of fishing is banned and it is not a thing just against spearos.

Same here. If spearing is banned, so is fishing. At least the marine parks have one advantage: They provide breeding grounds for fish that eventually have to come out where we can get at them! heh, heh, heh . . . :p

To put an end to it, Mr.B. lost by a nose (the gap between the two coalitions is just 4 senators on 315) and I bought a new speargun: Excalibur Carbon Mimetic 83cm. Review will follow.

I am interested in your review; for many years my normal excalibur has served me well, maybe time for an upgrade ;)

israel has one of the best places to dive & spearfish, but
-Israel is the one that produces more polution then all Medd countries!
-250 KM of nice beach we have & only 80 KM free for public
-net fishing in all places with out paying fisheries tax
-more & more places gone to local municipals ( marines ) & army
some also for the electric national company
