O2 Co2 Tables

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

Hi there !
I came across the O2 and Co2 tables here on DB, I had the chance to view some of the levels and found it amazing ! .. my question is where to get a hard copy or a soft copy of those tables ? can any one help please .. :inlove
 
Goog question, I would like a set as well (beats typing everything into Excel!)
 
Hi Adolphin,

Most of the Tolerance tables I have seen on this site, I posted from my Performance Freediving Manual....

If you follow the natural progression of the table, you increase your static time by 15ses for 02 and you decrease your ventilation time by 15secs PER PHASE.... this changes at about Phase 11....

If you note Lehman's latest posts, he has been doing tables for a couple of weeks and he had his first experience with the MDR very recently...

If you study how one initiates the MDR (Mammalian Diving Reflex), and you are enhanced through tolerance training, you will enjoy long and very comfortable submersions...

Good, so Performance Freediving is a potential supplier .. I hope they would supply their manual seperately (mean without taking the courses).

Regarding MDR, I'm not sure if I already experienced it or not yet, does it have to initiate in the water to be called MDR ? .. coz I many times (during dry statics) start feeling a sensation in my limbs (legs and arms) that is similar to a string been tighten around each limb slowing down the blood circulation in it, at that stage I suddenly feel a flush of air back into my lungs as if I was inhaling fresh air, again after some time the sensation gets stronger and another refreshing feeling fill my lungs, this keeps me away from any contractions for quite a while (say 3 min maybe 3 min 30 sec) then the contractions starts, I don't enjoy contractions at all, so it takes me max 1 min before I release myself .. :) .. is that a MDR ? .. I can see cleary that I have problem with Co2 tolerance much more than with O2, It's easier for me to go for the 1 vent 1 min technique for 6x with relative ease ! while it's more defficult to go on after the contractions start, even if it was only a 2 minutes since I hold my breath ! then I exhale strongly once and inhale deeply and stay for another 2 minutes ! .. I think I made myself clear .. what do you think lungfish ?

Hi Adolphin,
The MDR comes on about 20minutes after you start doing apnea work, it can be enhanced by keeping the nerve endings in your face submerged for 5minutes or so and by doing some breath holds to warm up. Basically, the sensation is one of extreme comfort at all points in a dive.... The first time it kicked in after I had spent 3months away from water and diligently practiced tolerance training, it was very, very noticeable. I got warmed up, relaxed and then I did a dive and just seemed to stay down there. I toured around, swimming downslope and time just seemed to stop... I checked my watch on top and I had been under for 2:45..... then I breathed up on top for about 7min, with my face in the water, and did it again, and again..... lost 3.5hours that afternoon, didn't even notice it.
It is really cool....
When I was a competitive swimmer I encountered the sensation from time-to-time but it wasn't formally explained and I wasn't trained to initiate it.

I'm a newbie to this and I'm really noticing when the MDR kicks in. You feel so at ease under water with no sense of stress. Time seems to slow down. It feels like you could stay underwater forever. From a rational perspective the degree of comfort and wellbeing is a little spooky. A natural hig, dude!

Guess you will have to take the course... which is a fine alternative, in my book...

Actually, there are two PFD publications for sale on freediving by Kirk Krack and various others. If you do a search you might find it. I would be there are tables in it. I will look into it also and get back to this.

Oh yes lungfish, having a freediving course is not bad at all .. ;) .. lol .. what am I saying !! .. it's fantastic actually .. I'm just trying to speed up my dry progress till I find time for proper wet courses .. ! .. and thanks for the effort I appreciate it .. :)

I used to dreem of my self jumping from a boat right into a crystal clear sea .. I was a small kid at that time, and kept on seing the same dream over and over again till recently, the feeling when underwater in the dream is the same on real freediving situation .. I couldn't understand it till I did my first real freedive .. !

I always dream about swimming and diving. I hold my breath in my sleep. :D

You know, its funny you should mention it....When I have flying dreams, I am swimming.... and I have dreams of jumping into dark seas with large sharks... and being in deep space...

We should explore this in a separate thread... I wonder how many of us have things in common in our dream lives.
