Anyone watching the Ocean Odessey series on the BBC? It's "following" the life of a sperm whale, using a mix of CG and real footage. It's quite interesting, the information about the abyssal plain and the computer graphics on it can let your mind imaging it :)
Think its on BBC1 every wednesday at 8 :)

I saw it, it is very interesting. The sperm whales are certainly great freedivers, going to 2000m with a 20 minute descent. The whole dive must take about an hour.

I just added the series to my (wife's) netflix account so they should start coming next week.

It says that it takes the whales 10 minutes to prepare for a deep dive. I'd like to know what sort of breath-up they do before 2000m CW.

Gah! I missed last weeks! I'll have to try and remember it this week.
I'm looking forward to the new episodes of Planet Earth in the Autumn too, did anyone else watch the first lot when they were on? I saw some more underwater footage in the trailer for the second lot :D
