Commentary Oceanic+ iPhone Dive Housing Now Available For Pre-Order

his is exciting for anyone who’s into diving and has been waiting for a more affordable dive housing solution. Oceanic+ has a solid reputation, so I’m hopeful about the build quality and reliability. I’ve used a few underwater cases for the iPhone in the past, but this one seems especially promising with the depth ratings and integration with the Oceanic+ app.

For anyone new to diving with an iPhone, keep in mind that even with a good housing, it’s crucial to check the seals before every dive. Saltwater and electronics don’t mix, and even a small leak could ruin your phone. Also, remember to rinse the housing with freshwater after every dive to keep it in top shape—salt buildup can degrade the seal over time.

If anyone else is pre-ordering, I’d love to hear thoughts once you get your hands on it! I'm considering grabbing one myself, but would love some first impressions.

That’s great advice on checking the seals and rinsing the housing after each dive—it’s the little things that keep gear lasting longer! Speaking of exciting tech, have you heard of Scarlet iOS? It’s a platform that allows you to load custom apps and tweak settings on iOS devices without needing to jailbreak. This could be super useful for diving apps like Oceanic+ or others that aren’t on the App Store but offer unique features.

Scarlet makes it easy to install these custom tools directly, which can be a game-changer for divers who want specialized functionalities or better offline capabilities. If anyone’s trying out Scarlet with Oceanic+ or similar apps, it’d be interesting to know how well it integrates!
