I saw the same thing happen at an aquarium in Portugal. A little smooth dogfish swam a bit too close to the resident octo and WHAM! Lunch for Mr. Octopus.
The aquarium employees were freaking out--all I could do was try not to wet my pants with the laughter!!

Wicked , even if it is in a tank, there is no hiding from the brutality of mother nature.

That's a giant Octopus, from the deep waters in the north pacific if I remember correct, if not than somewhere else near Canada. I think they get up to 6-8 meters.
(Saw it in a NG documentary a couple of years ago.)
 
That is a very interesting clip. They are an incredibly smart and strong creature.

Now THAT is abso-fuggin'-lutely wild.

I think my down time might have been considerably less after witnessing that.

Both because of tachycardia, and fear of that octopus' dive buddy. Nothing like wearing your own hunting blind, eh?

I think I would've squirted a little ink, too.
