Lucky Me

But I was hoping to find some freediving training while I am over there in the Land of Smiles, so far I've spotted APNEA-TOTAL.com on Ko Tao, which seems to offer its own courses, while on Ko Lanta, Blue Planet Divers aqparently offer AIDA *, ** and ***. Has anyone out there in the forum experienced either or both of these schools and if so is there a preference? I would afterall like to come back with a quali thats recognised by BFA etc

Please help

Wally:confused:

I did a basic and advanced course with Monica and Eusebo at Total Apnea. They own and run it. Monica teaches the basic course and Eusebo the advanced. They are both very good and I had an awesome time. I am hoping to go back to do their master course! They teach under a different thing called F R E E which may not be recognised by bfa but they are lovely and teach to a very high standard! On the first day of the static apnea bit i managed (due to their teaching) to get a time of 3:58. and my last constant weight dive was about 28m only due to not enought depth on the day. I highly highly recommend them. I do not however know about the other place I was not aware there was another freedive school in thailand but if you choose monica and Eusebo you will not regret it! I am very jealous that you aare going over there and i am not.

I am also a former student of Monica and Eusebio and I can totally recommend their courses. I took the time to do their master course and dived with them for about two months. I went from being a total novice (I had never heard of the sport before) to feeling ultimately comfortable in the water. I was planning to head back their at some point this year. I can highly recommend them.

Hi Kern and Lachlan,

Thanksfor the advice, I have also now had a good response from Total so my mind's made up and thanks to you bothl, Lachlan, I am particularly interested in their internship how did you find it, although I think I will need some serious practice before I embark on that just at this stage, but maybe next winter...........

Anyhow, got to go back to work tomorrow and tick another day off the calendar. By the way folks for those that are UK based I watched Tanya Streeters programme on BBC2 and was thoroughly inspired - awesome.

Well thanks for the responses and I will let you all know how things progress.

Wally:)

Hi!
It's nice to get some good feedback on Apnea Total! I will be there on the 9th of Februar, doing an advanced course with them. Anybody else from the forum there at the same time??
Cheers,

Micky
