Hi

Just purchased a Omer Pelagic 100 reel and was wondering whether the line guide on the reel should be fixed. Mine seems to be able to swivel from front to back. Just wondering if this was normal??

Congrat miles, now nothing can stop you taking bigger tails:D

And this line guide is not fixed in any model of OMER reels...Its gets tighter when you turn the screw benath of the reel.

Hiya murat

Tried tightening the screw but it doesn't help. I suppose its meant to be that way. Will know in the next 6 hours though :D :D :D

The line guide become tighter not FIXED. I was not sure if this is the property of all the reels but no matter how much turn the screw the reel itself and line guide never locks. So the reel guide will move anyway, but it will be tight enough to keep its place in the water.

As long as it has some resistance, than it should be fine. IT's meant to swivel & will point to the direction line peels out in when a fish is on.

If anything, I use the swivelling line guide to slightly tighten the line up towards the shaft when reloading the gun.

Hiya Fuzz

Just used the reel and i see what you mean. Also used the swivelling line giude to tighten the spearline. Very good reel. The best i've used so far. Definitely gets two thumbs up:D :D

Unfortunately, no really big fish to test it out on though

Miles,
That was on a railgun, right? How did it work? Thinking about getting one myself for one of my Rabitechs.

Hiya Rabideath

Yes, the omer pelagic 100 is mounted on my 115cm Rabitex Carbon Apex. Works beautifully and looks wicked too :D :D :D
