Hi
I am hoping someone has come across the same problem as i have with a leaking mask.
I bought an Omer Alien mask some months ago and it has developed a small 2-3mm tear on the edge of the skirt below the left eye. For the last 2 dives it has leaked alot. Clearing my mask every 2nd dive and it was not even deep! :vangry
Last night I tried a repair with a 2-part rubber epoxy went for car use (gaskets etc). I put a small bit of tape on the inside to keep the inside edge free of glue and to create a flush finish. I also roughed up the outside edge with 1500grit sandpaper, then cleaned with benzene. Small amount of glue etc.....
this morning I tried it for fit- PERFECT- NO LEAKING!!! But then the epoxy came off. I can see that it did not stick a single bit to the silicone skirt!!!! :waterwork
Has anybody tried such a repair? What glue/epoxy would work?

Safe dives this weekend
Jacques

To Repair silicone use silicone RTV.
It is available in Black as well as Clear, you can buy small tubes~200g
Be careful to make the repair as small as possible so the mask seals well.
