Hi guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my fins, most of my diving and spearing is done around the 10m 30ft mark but I do alot of surface and shallow swimming so I'm looking for something that will be really easy on the feet.

I've narrowed it down to the Omer Bat fins or the Cressi's I'm not fussed about the price difference between the two, I dive 2-3 times a week every week so I can justify the extra for the Omer's but I just want to know what's going to be easier and also I do a little bit of scuba diving, maybe 5-10% compared to 90% spearing and freediving, so if one is better for that I suppose I should take it into consideration.

Any tips?

Cheers.

i tried both and THEN i tried the omer ice fins...go fo th ice fins, it beats both in surface swimming HANDS DOWN...(at least thats my experience)..and is very good for up to 15m of depth (never tried it beyond that)
the cressi is really good too, but if you dont have narrow feet (like me) its very painful after some swimming...

Hey Man what fins do you own now? I ask this because if you have any other footpocket that resembles omer's or cressis most people would advice you to stick to something very similar to what you currently own. As far as the Bat's go I hear that 25's are very comfortable on the surface, but i dont know if the blades have an arch to them. The cressi's are very good and ALL my freinds use them & love them. However, you cannot change the footpockets on these if you ever feel the need to upgrade. The reason i don't have them is because i do not want to have what every one currently has. So I'm hoping to get some VTR blades with sporasub footpockets. Cheers! good luck on your pick.
Oh yeah if you wait cressi is coming out with a NEW FIN GARA PROFESSIONAL!

I would avoid the cressi's, I find the heel too soft, so when using the fin it tries to bend in the middle of the foot, with the omer you also have room to upgrade since the you can replace the blade. I have a bat25 they are really nice for shallow dives, but would take marwan's word today and go with the ice

I have the cressi LD. My feet are not that wide and the footpockets are still pretty tight. I just got the fins so I have not used them yet, but when I buy boots for them (I got one size bigger so I can use a boot with them) I am thinking I may have to cut out the sections of the boots where my feet are already tight within the foot pocket. i bought the fins offline, so I didn't have the ability to try them on first, DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE. Try to find a dive shop that has the fins and try them on before buying...however the price of buying them online is must better. I got the Cressi Garas for 89.00 off Buy scuba gear, scuba diving and snorkeling equipment, and everything underwater from LeisurePro.com Happy shopping

That's why One should always research before buying, leisure pro has an option where you can try equipment you know! you could have had them send you 2 pairs of garas different sizes and then try on witch one would fit better with boots. Also I hear if you dive in cold water with plastic fins the fins become hard I hope your fins serve you well! as for my garas 2000 hf's they totally have betrayed me !
