getting an omar brown mimetic suit and just wanted to know if i could use it in the pool to or will it fade or get messe up??

Pools have chlorine in them. Has done little to effect my swim trunks in all these years, and my daughter seems to drink pleanty of it without being too ill! , so I expect as long as you rinse it in freshwater afterwards or shower with it on at the pool it will be fine. IMO

I would be more cautious of peeing in it than wearing it in a pool.

thats what i was thinking

as soon as i get it i'm off to the pool to test out how much lbs i need in my belt and vest

It WILL fade it if you use it in the pool on a regular basis.

One dive shop I taught at would use the top half of their 7mm suits for the students to keep warm in the pool and then give them the pants to use with it for their openwater dives. They had to turn the suits every two years because of the fading that miss-matched the suits in no time. I have also burned through more than one 3mm pool suit due to regular use in the pool.

Pee has no effect on the durability of the suit.

Jon's right, so hit the shower right after, peel the suit off and make sure it's rinsed bro.

grrr ok ill wash it off really good and ill only use it to see how much lbs i need. any one have any ideas on that i have 16 lbs of lead i just got from a dive shop for my belt but i'm not sure how much i'm going to need. i have a vest to so i think i'm going to cut some steel to fill that up.
so i was thinking about 6 lbs in my vest and 14 in my belt?

Dont forget you will need more lbs for diving in the sea than you will to dive in the pool, the whole freshwater/saltwater boyancy thing.

check that ill be getting more lead when i go back to calgary.. 16 lbs cost 56 bucks i thought lead was cheap lol

i think the extra weight neded is only something like 3-4% more so if you can dive at well known line fishing spots then find fishing weights and mould the new lead yourself!!

this is a site that seems to describe it well...

If you can borrow a lead mold from a local diver then you wont need to buy your own, otherwise you should be able to get one from ebay for a few dollars
