A year ago i bought an Omer master 2000 speargun which after six months cracked at the point where the head pin was. I thought it was a defective gun and i left it there. Now three months ago i bought the T20 carbon med mimetic and the same thing hapened to this one too.
Did any of you guys had the same problem or is it just me

I have to say that im very dissapointed by Omer

I have an Omer Kevlar and Omer Carbon (both older Excalibur models) and haven't had anything similar happen but it did happen to a carbon sporasub sniper. Carbon is prone to these types of stress factures at weak points so see if you can get your local Omer guy to sort it. Which country you in?

Its a common problem to master 2000 models due to their stainless steel pins. It oxidize and cause cracks. Hovewer i did not see anyproblem with new T20s. Their pins in plastic and does not have same problem.I know many people using them more than a year in here.

cotros, look for a deeper blue member called Mark Labocetta, you can find him using the search facility; drop him a PM and he will give you the best advice there is about Omer products

Hi Cotros,

What country are you in? I need to know so I can give you the right information to take care of the exchange.

While the Master 2000 is at least 5 years old, I don't know when you bought it but they came out in 2000, and they've been out of production since 2002. As Murat pointed out the reason your barrel cracked at the head pin is because of the stainless steel head pin corroding with a small aluminum sleeve about an 1" long or so inserted in the extremety of each end of the barrel. These were subsequently changed on guns that came out after the first year. Omer's mistake so they should replace it for you.

The problem with your T-20 Mimetic on the other hand blows me away, this is a popular gun in the USA and we have not had one returned for this problem since they've been out. Did you by any chance try to remove the muzzle somehow?

Either way we'll give you the benefit of the doubt and apologize for the inconvenience. Get back to me with your information by email at mark@omerdiving.com and we'll arrange to have those barrels exchanged and taken care of for you.

Regards,

Mark Laboccetta

ps - contact us directly next time, it will be faster and less hassle for both of us!

Mark,
The mental trauma this caused me (as well as other forum memebers im sure) is immense regarding the confidence we have in Omer products. the only way out for you would be to send us all some new t20 guns
cheers man

Well if its handout time, lets start with the Team Leaders and work from there
Of course pigs may fly also!

Arghhhh....I knew this one was gona be trouble! :head and knew you rascals would be taking advantage! Okay what the hell, free guns to everyone in that case :friday

a dive in the Med give me a buzz!!

Mark if you will give free spearguns put me to the list too rofl

Cotros,

Just a advise, i guess you are from south if so ask omer dealer about their prices here in north, you may be surprised

by the way i think i am qualified enough for free speargun since i spent tons of money to OMER. rofl rofl

Me too - I said nice things and also am ultra-attractive in my stylish yet practical omer weight-vest. Women quite often throw themselves into the water near me in hopes I'll notice whereas fish frequently crash into me - due to my perfect invisibility.

Murat, I guess you must be much cheeper, and since you mention it im interested
in the new Omer carbon fin blades. Do you know roughly how much they cost and from where i can buy them? Thanks

My Omer gun bumped a coffee cup off of my desk and spilled coffee into my computer that began to spark which started a fire that cinged my eyebrows off and caused me to lose my $215,000 a year job as busy male dancer at night. :waterwork

Please send me an Omer rubber weight belt right away!

:ban

Oh, I forgot to mention - I also have an Omer Rubber weight belt. It has given me special powers.

Mark,
think of this as an opra episode man, we're the audience, you're opra, its handout time

Omer will relase its new carbon fiber blades in 2006

Well i have to jump on this band wagon.
Dear mr (Nice Guy) Laboccetta, i have never used or owned a omer product so maybe you would like to swing my feelings toward using your gear by sending me some nice things . dont send me a gun though i have mine custom made so dont need any.

lol jimdoe rofl

dear mark

nowhere on the packaging or promotional information of your omer carbon fibre blades does it include the disclaimer 'do not wear while unicycling'. my consequent injuries have included an ingrown toenail, tourette's syndrome and chronic impotence leading to the irrevocable breakdown of my marriage to an hawaiian billionairess.

as the US representative of this company, you will no doubt be aware of the serious litigious potential of this situation. my pain, misery and distress can only be mitigated by a swarm of no win no fee attorneys who are preparing their briefs as we speak.

alternatively this matter can be settled amicably out of court with a free speargun.
