I recently saw this model (100cm long) at a dive shop for $190. Anybody know why this price is so low for a carbon gun? Anybody ever used one? Comments?

i have the carbonium in that length, its a great gun i have integrated it witha rail, 6.75 mm shaft and 21mm rubbers from picasso. Its excellent. I wouldnt say that price is low though, seems about right, maybe its low because omer introduced some newer models from that one like the T20 and omer excalibur 3000. if you want to know more, just type in ömer excalibur or omer carbonium, in the search field, you should find plenty of information/reviews. but thumbs up from me its a cool gun

Glad I have your word of confidence, Marwan. I just bought it and will give it a go later today. The price is too good to pass up for an Omer carbon gun. If you ever come to Hawaii, I'll buy you a drink!

Do you mean the excalibur carbonium? I agree it's very good. It's the only 100cm rubbergun I have and I don't need any other: lightweight but accurate, the design is classic but cool. Very positive comments about the trigger mech, that I found softer and more sensitive than the T20's (I just bought a 75 mimetic med)
The only thing I changed on my excalibur carbonium 100 are rubbers: I put stronger power 18 slings instead of the stock 16mm.
The price? It's not the carbonium who is cheap. It's the others who are expensive.

hawaii wow!! i might take you up on that
listen in terms of band/shaft configuration, the upgrde to 18mm rubbers like spaghetti is using is a great payoff, especially if you hunt fast, medium to small type fish. if your hunting is mainly medium to nig size powerfuf fish like groupers or jacks, i would suggest the upgrade to the 6.75mm shaft and 20mm rubbers. this way it is less likely to end up with bent shafts. i use this combo, very powerful, very accurate.

cheers

Good tips. Will keep them in mind. For now, I just want to get the feel of my new toy. So I tested it out yesterday and caught 4 reef fish. Sooooo much more accurate & power than my beginner JBL gun! :thankyou

Curious, where do you live?

Hello, everybody

I just bought a omer carbonium 90. I can fix the moving plastic part(shaft holder) I dont knew where is best position fore or full beck. If somebody knew whot i mean.
Thnks

doesnt really matter, i used to keep mine in the middle before i took it off and installed a rail...

Yes it doesn't really matter but speaking for one I pulled it all back near the handle and it shoots perfect: very few missed shots in more than six years of hard duty.
Just take care that it's straight and doesn't "flip" around, so take care to screw the thread very hard (but also take care the thread is made in soft plastic, so be gentle with that screwdriver).
