Hey,
I just bought a brand new OMER Cayman carbon 110CM.

It has a useless manual with nothing but warnings and no information about
how to rig or use the gun at all.
Well, it's not my first gun and I'm not new to diving but it is my first OMER and
first gun with a reel.
I have no idea of how to rig it!
The reel has a line on it, but I also got a nylon line.

1. How to rig it? Must I tie the shaft to the nylon line and the nylon line to the reel line? Can I use ONLY the line on the reel and nothing more to tie the shaft?

2. Won't the shaft drop off the gun (open muzzle) with the slightest tilting of it?

3. What prevents line from coming off the reel when the gun is loaded?

Sorry for all the questions,
but I am getting a little worried that I made a bad buy.
Couldn't find tutorials no where on line.

Photos will be more than great...
Thanks.

I was asking the exact same questions when i tried to rig my reel. :D
Yes, you put the nylon to the shaft and after 2 wraps connect it to the reel line.
the nylon line has less drag in the water and is therefore better as a shootingline.
I connect the two lines with a clip.

You have to tighten the screw on the reel so that it only gives line,
if a big fish is dragging. The Shooting(Nylon) Line should come off with the shot and the reel line only if a fish drags.

Hope you understood what i meant.

There is a great thread

Thanks, thats a great thread.

I still can't understand the path the line goes through on the gun from the end of the shaft to the reel?

Also what keeps the shaft from falling off the muzzle?
It appears like it will fall off it when tilting the gun.

Thanks again.

LMAO!
I Google trenslated it and in the first paragraph he sais all the parts made no sense to him and he looked for instructions in vain.

BTW, it's realy wierd that a simple manual doesn't exist!
Think i'll mail O.ME.R my opinion of that.

ubik- Been very helpful, you da man.

yeah. in fact he wrote exactly that. this was his first speargun and he didnt know what to do either :D and you dont need the bungee to connect shooting line with reelline.
