Here's what you do and thanks for buying our limited production flagship gun.

Since I also have had the same issue this is what I reccomend.

This is a "quick switch" to go from reef to break away but it only works with a reel setup, with the shooting line tied to the muzzle you would have to cut some mono and recrimp.

  • Run two loops of shooting line and have the end of the shooting line come back toward the reel about 10cm's from the line release.
    • In your reel set up you would normally attach your reel line to the shooting line with a swivel. ie. 10cm or so of reel line - big game swivel -end of shooting line with loop.
  • remove the reel
  • now there is no reel and the end of the shooting line is 10cm from the line release
  • attach a bungie/swivel combo about 8cm in length or the correct size and connect it to the shooting line. connect the other end to the line release with some tension. connect that to your float line for blue water break away.

Don't forget to grab your gun after you shoot the bw setup

thanks mark!
as always you are very helpful.
I simply love this gun, and am not too abashed to use it as it was designed frequently.

I was wondering, since I am on the subject of modding slightly, if the (2007) TOP energy 20mm bands accomodate the screw threads in the muzzle of the Cobra? are they the same thread spec and diameter, or are they the old 20mm diameter thread instead of the 16mm of the new power band series?

I am curious to see if it is worth the bother to up the power on the circolare to dual 20mm top energy power bands, or are the 18's a far better option. The numbers for band tension appear to slightly sway in favor of 18's why is that? or am I mistaken?

and thanks for providing the spec digits on the trigger mech, and the barrel flex, Impressive numbers! I feel I made the right choice even more so.
any chance of an Omer Bluewater enclosed gun in the future? yeah I know I am dreaming large...

again thanks for your time.

just thought of something that I am wondering about.
I noticed while first chestloading the Cobra that this little gem hurts!!! so I went to Ace Hardware and found a large carpet glider pad, used to glide heavy furniture over the floor, and drilled four holes in it, tying rope for a harness I can slip over my head, making an under suit butt pad. now I can chest load in comfort, and this makes my days 10 times more relaxing and anjoyable. anyone else have this problem with the Cobra, or am I just a sensitive chest sissy. I dont have the gut necessary for hip or stomach loading, and chest loading seems easier, especially now.

TBGSub (by the way wha's your first name?)

Yes, the 20mm bands have 16mm threads (item codes 652012CF-652032CF). The last two digits in the code signify the band length in centimeters and they come in 1cm incremements. 3rd and 4th digit in the code are thickness. The measurement is the actual length of the rubber inside the nylon threads. So you can measure what you have and figure out what you need. Keep in mind 20mm's are harder to load than 18's. As a rule of thumb try to have at least three X stretch length of the bands + the band length. So if you have a 100, 24's would work well= 96cm. But 26's, 104, would be better since they are harder bands to load (162.8lbs avg). What size is your gun

You are right. The 18's are a better bang for the buck all around (no pun intended) rofl . If you shoot just a single band gun and want as much power into one band go for single 20's. If you're going to use two stick to 18's or even 16's because they have the best combination of loading effort to power.
I use two 18's on my 130 Master America.

Sounds to me like you didn't get a rubber butt for the handle of your gun. Next time Morito orders remind him and I'll send you two screws and a butt. Carefully drill two small pilot holes in the back of the Cobra in the teak first.

I've been trying to get them to make a blue water gun for three years, and they've been working on one for three years Part of the delay is that projects like that aren't a priority since the market's small and saturated for bw guns. Have a good weekend, Mark

thanks mark, you are awesome!
that is five times more information that I expected.
and I am glad that I wont really need double 20 band setup, pulling the 18's are nice.
I will chat with Mori about the butt, however I like the low profile without it, thanks for not calling me a wussy!! ,

by the way we are putting together a Spearfishing Non-proffit club here in the CNMI in order to compete internationally, We are forming a charter for the non proffit application. any helpful hints on who to contact for forms information, we are trying to contact a Hawaiian chartered spearo club to borrow their rules, and club order.

also future sponsorship possibilities? we currently have the four gold medal winners from our mocronesian games olympics. it is a mocronesian challenge between Chuuk, Palau, CNMI, Federated states of Micronesia, Ponepei, Kosrai, Yap, Nauru, Guam, Kiribas, Marshall Islands. CNMI took gold in both team and individual competitions for spearfishing, edging Guam into second, and Palau into third. Our gold medal team wishes to represent the CNMI in International competition so they are organizing a base from which to travel and compete.

I am just wondering if you have any recommendations for our club, I will give your response at the next meeting.

thanks.
