Omer Greens too stiff?

Hey guys, I just bought a pair of Omer Millennium Greens, and they seem more stiff than I thought they should be. They are about twice as stiff as a pair of Cressi 2000hd's that we had out. Is this a problem that I should ask omer about, or is that the way they normally are? I thought greens were supposed to be relatively soft. Even my very experienced friend thought they were boards.

The greens and the blacks are the same stiffness (very) despite the general assumption that they are different. The Grey blades and the ice are softer.
It seems that the makers really don't like to make soft or medium blades. If anything, they go the way of Picasso. Picasso's Start fins have green blades that are as stiff as the black ones. the footpocket is softer to make them easier to kick with.
Omer has their grey and ice blades that are softer, Cressi has the 3000LD, and Imersion has their green fins. Everything else seems to be stiff, stiffer, or unbendable.

I've tried new Millenium greens and they were no stiffer than my well used Cressi 2000HFs.

I figured it out in the pool tonight, and concur with kjflyfish that they are like hf's… if they are not in 5 C water. So not a good fin for Canada this time of year, and a bit stiffer than I was looking for, but still a fin I am happy with.

Nick, if you want a fin that doesn't change noticably with temperature, look into some fiberglass blades. Pricy, but well worth it.

Yea, thats the upgrade plan. Any particular recommendations?

There are so many these days - 20 Fathoms, Speacialfins, Waterways, DiveR, Gary Fisher, Omer, Imersion, Picasso, and on and on.

If I could have done it all over again, I would have just bought a pair of Omer Pegassos from Jim at The Spearfishing Store. One good thing about the new Omer blades is that they don't use screw holes, so they are less likely to break there.

Since you already have footpockets, you can just get some new blades. 20Fathoms has the Edge and lots of folks really like them. The owner, Dennis, has just put up a video on the website that demos thier durability - pretty cool. Also check the member items section on the forums.

There are other people that could tell you more than me, so keep asking around. Good deals seem to pop up fairly often too.

I've been using SpecialFins Blue Water specials (medium stiffness) for over 2 years. I really like them, and they seem very durable. They started life with Picasso footpockets. I liked the stiff footpocket but they had to be glued in, and even 3M-5200 gave up and a blade would pop out from time to time. I'm using Omer footpockets with them now and they seem more reliable, as well as being almost as stiff. Generally an excellent combination
