Hi All,

Thought of asking you guys and girls....., as the infotech@omersub.it did not bother to answer my question since i wrote them on the 11th of June....

Hey OMER dudes....i pay good money for your products, and bear in mind that all my gear is OMER !!!! even the fixi poems (fin straps) are OMER....

Maybe i need to get an OMER towel and swim shorts to get your attention !!!!
Or i should just come down there in Italy and :martial and :ko .... you !!! then we can go for :friday

You should at least send an automated email to people, so that they think that you actually bother with them !!!!
I have written to Omer twice so far !!!! My first reply came after a long time and it was a shifty one !!!!! they should learn to be straight with people !!!! and of course the second one never arrived....so here i go...

I have bought the OMER Ocean Mimetic wetsuit !!! (Helps to catch many big fish.... :t )
As it says on the website (omersub.it)
"
All crossing points are reinforced with nylon circular dots which are hot melt glued. These ensure better resistance of the sewing in the most delicate parts of the suit

"

On my wetsuit, this circular dots are not present. Oh...Maybe they are invisible rofl . I dont think so.....:naughty

My questions are :

1. Did OMER introduce this feature in later models of the production ???
2. Can I obtain this reinforcing circular nylon dots, and how do I go about putting them on ???

I am attaching a photo showing the wetsuite and teh reinforcement points as taken from the OMER website, and my wetsuit that does not have the reinforcement points.

Can someone please shed some light onto this !!!!

Hey OMER dudes....better ask your web admin to remove your contact details if you are not willing to reply to us:rcard :rcard :rcard .

Thanks,

George

Hiya

gserghiou, i'm sure Mark Labocetta of Omer will comment as soon as he see's this. All my dealing with him have left me a very happy customer. AWESOME service!!

The pictured wetsuit is the green mimetic, which is their new wetsuit. I also have the Ocean Mimetic, and it looks EXACTLY like yours. It is possible that the newer wetsuits have those dots or maybe your wetsuit was simply older stock.

Either way, my 5mm Omer Memetic is over 3 years old and has seen very hard use and is still in excellent condition!! (not as thick as it originally was, but thats understandable, after such hard use!!:D)

Regards
miles

I will have to agree with Miles, Mark really makes a difference, when I buy omer gear in Brazil, I definite don't get the same support that Mark gives to U.S. costumers.

About the suit I think the 2005 Model did not have those patches. But I am just guessing.

Hi,

If this is the case, that the wetsuit does not have those dots because its an 'older' model then no problem at all.

Does anyone still know if i can obtain something similar (round dots) to put on my wetsuit ????
Maybe im just askinig for the sake of it, and im not even going to put them (round dots) on , cause as you said it does not make much difference (they should be good quality-strong anyways)

As far as Mark, you say he has been very helpfull to 'customers'.

I MOST DEFINETELY AGREE with that !!!!!

I have read on previous threads about problems being resolved my Mark, that were not even from USA, eg someone (in Cyprus) having his guns replaced for free by Mark..... I Wish our distributors here were half as helpful as Mark....

Everybody must :inlove Mark !!!!!

Thanks again,

George

I am really not sure about this one, it is just a guess, better hear from Mark, I just did not notice those patches on the 2005 catalog.

Everybody must Mark !!!!!

Now that's the farthest thing from the truth. My own wife doesn't love me some timesrofl

I don't get the impression you are here in the USA Gserghiou.

I'll take this opportunity to confirm you are correct, if your suit doesn't have the dots it's an older suit and to explain the differences between 2002-2005 Ocean Mimetic suits and the new generation 2006 Omer suits.

The material has been changed to a stretchier and softer Japanese neoprene compared to the one used before. The cut has been changed in the same old sizes 2-6 (2 XSM,3 SM, 4M, 5 L, 6 XL) and some new cuts have been added.
http://www.omerdiving.com/product.aspx?product=197

Omer introduced a 3 Long, 4 Long, and 5 Long now available to make the sizes more custom, especially for tall lanky people. The beavertail was lengthened 2cm too so it's not as tight.

Since the new material is also stretchier the cut was changed to a more custom fit to hug the body better. Not only is this material lighter and stretchier, it's also warmer. The glued dots are just one small external change to reinforce the stitching where its tied together at the seams.

All these changes, as well as the addition of the Green Mimetic suit which is a beautiful new camouflage, were done to offer a more customized size range and custom fit since a lot of custom suit manufacturers also have just work with a bigger run of sizes rather than standard size suits. This way, thanks to the long size, guys like me don't have to look like they are wearing high waters anymore:)

In Italy they (most companies) close for a month of government holidays typically the entire month of August.

Mark

Yes, that's probably the reason why they didn't answer your request.
Mister Rossoni, the boss of Omer's customer care office in Italy, has a great reputation here for his kindness and reliability, so I guess he was probably on his well deserved summer holidays.
Moreover, as a general feature: e-mailing italian companies in english language might be hazardous, since italians in general, even the most educated ones, DON'T speak good english. Of course every company has some english speaking personnel too, but if they're busy or on vacation, this is what you get: delayed response, or no response.
You'd better stick on Mark: he speaks the universal language of divers :) .

Hi All,

Thanks for your replies.

I come from Cyprus and also work for the Government !!!!:friday

We do get 'tired' :naughty :naughty :naughty :naughty :naughty (you know what i mean)

August everything 'shuts down' :rcard , but Omer had the whole of JUNE and JULY to reply .... maybe they were even more tired !!!!

anyways....now i know the answer... I wish i knew this before i buy my suit, as it seems i bought an older model !!!! .... No problem...... as they say over here....

:friday Be Happy and Drink Well !!!! :friday

Thanks again for your information !!!!!

George
