How did I manage to order the XXV + reel?! The gun is sooo nice , arrived today, but with reel attatched!

I've checked back on the web page and it seems that I had selected the wrong item. Not to worried about the cost as it was only an extra 5 euros BUT do not want the reel on the gun.

Is it easily removed? Can't yet see how it is fixed.

It's easy, don't worry. Look at the upper area of the reel, where it's connected to the handle/barrell. You'll see two black "dots" inside the plastic fitting between the body of the gun and the reel: they're spines/plugs/pins or however you call them in english. Grab a screwdriver or any tool that's hard and pointy, and use it to push strongly the "dots" from one side: they will slip off from the opposite side.
When the black plastic pins are off, you can slide off the reel itself by simply pulling it backwards (or onwards, don't remember).
Just a question: why this hurry to remove the reel? I know it's not strictly necessary for bass and mullet, but there'll come a day you'll spear a VERY BIG one and probably regret you removed the reel. It also gives more buoyancy and mass to the whole.
PS-I'm happy you like the gun.

:) always rely on spaghetti!!

Thanks! I'll say more about the gun on the original thread, but had a panic that I was stuck with the reel.

:)

I'm just trying to help. Please let me know if you succeed removing the reel or if there's any problem.

This forum is really good. I just got the Cayman HF and the screws holding the reel to the gun were missing. After reading this I managed to get the reel off the gun and find replacement screws! Then checked out Miles rigging section and I am ready to go!
Thanks!!

This forum is the BEST!
Now in exchange for this tip you could kindly report your Cayman HF review :) . There are some guys on this board who have already bought it, but none has posted a review yet...
Still on topic: so Adon your reel had components missing? Happy you solved it, but let me remind to everyone that Omer has a fair customer care service, so if any of their products has something wrong, they will replace it quickly, for free and with all the apologies due.
