I just noticed that omer have released a new model Tempest,
Upon looking at it closely i appears to be another asso clone from the Chinese "Hang Fung Industries", same as the persistent spearguns, aqua gear, mirage and some others. They have stamped omer all over the handle, the old tempest had side line release and many said was quality this seems like a step backwards.

To me this is very disappointing as omer have proven to be a capable innovator and manufacturer. I wonder how long till they are copying the airbalete.

You can see it in their latest cataloge online.

The Omer web-site is slow, but I finally took a look at it and I think you are right, this is the same gun with Omer stickers and a black and white colour scheme. Probably a simpler product offering to pick up sales at the lower end compared with the "Airbalete" and their Sporasub "One Air".

Lower end based on price that is! No doubt made in China like the other versions of the "Asso" clone.

I got a chance to checkout one of the aqua gear guns (chinese asso clones the other say) and even pull it apart.

I couldn't believe it, some parts(like the muzzle and trigger) were identical. but there was small differences that most wouldn't notice. All the threads on the gun were different, the inner barrel size was just under 13mm. So basically you cannot swap parts around for mares or asso.
The trigger pin was a clear week point, It was very hard to get a seal.
The handle isn't strong you can flex it in your hand. They have slimmed down the thickness of the plastic in the handle so they can put the rubber grip around it.
The seac sub asso is a better gun.

One thing though, this gun came with a stainless steel spear.
