Omersub Line Separator

I was just scanning around a few favourite spearo webstores and came across this interesting looking item:

I wonder if anyone can provide more information or has used it? The purpose is not clear to me. Certainly, f you crimp too small an loop in your spear-line when using the end spear-hole, it can and usually will make it difficult/impossible to load the spear properly - however that is simply remedied by using a large end-loop. Is this perhaps to accommodate thicker lines (e.g. 2mm+ mono-filament line/spectra/kevlar cord)?

While we are examining Italian innovations, how about one of these as an alternative to a traditional spearing float??? Wow!

Well done, yes that's it. So, it works as anticipated. Not sure I see a real need to add another potential source of failure in to the spear-line-gun chain but I guess handy if you are already experiencing problems in that area. It looks like it would allow the line to sit more comfortably to the side of the spear, rather than on top, blocking the wishbone slots while loading . On the video, it looked like the new bar could get in the way of the semi-round trigger mech slot in the spear - presumably it just pivots up out of the way in use though.

As mentioned above, I did have an issue with reliable spear loading/release (with my RA) after replacing my spear-line for the first time but using a slightly longer (e.g. maybe 3cm rather than 1.5cm), more flexible loop at the spear's butt was the simple solution to that (I was using thick mono-filament spear-line - 2mm/2.5mm? - at the time).

[Great find those Omer videos. Pity they don't have one on their simple rubber "shock absorbers" - although they do on their SA-style bungees, which are more obvious.]
