Hi,

I have finally bought a speargun after wanting to try the sport for a number of years. I am off to Cornwall on Saturday and have bought an Apnea Powerpoint. I have looked at numerous articles about rigging a speargun but was wondering if I should be considering doing a single or double wrap with the shooting line? Any tips appreciated.

Thanks

I used to double wrap most of my guns but then found it was a lot of hassle. I would stick to single wrap on guns as you should be able to get close enough for most species.

A very wise successful spearfisherman once told me that single wrap guns are more suitable for uk fishing as then you can use them for all aspects of spearfishing including hole fishing

I agree with Scooby as said above - also, you will know if you need more than a single wrap if the spear reaches the end of the shooting line and wants to keep going.
