Hey Freedivers in the GTA & beyond . . .

The public channel TV Ontario (station CICA, Ch 19 on antenna broadcast in the GTA, check your listings elsewhere & for cable & satellite) has been showing the "Undersea Explorer" series on Thursdays in the wee hours of the morning.

The show "Free Diver" featuring Tanya Streeter in the Florida Keys will be on at 3:15 AM, Thursday, March 13.

Rev up your VCRs and TIVOs! I for one, am gonna record it and watch after work

Some of the other shows look good too: 'Sea of Cortez' is on at 2:50 AM 13/03/08 and the week before, on 06/03/08 'Ghost Fleet of the Pacific' is on at 2:00 am and 'Oasis of the Deep' is on at 2:30 AM.

Have fun,
Steve:chatup

It's good to hear FreeDiver is reaching all corners of the globe and I hope you enjoy it. Sorry it's on at such a crazy time - I guess that's because it's been in rotation for nearly 3 years already. What did we do before DVR and Tivo?! Anyway, I just wanted to point out that the film is not set in the FL Keys as you mentioned - it's a compilation of 3 films set in Galapagos, Belize and The Silver Banks (between Turks & Caicos and the Dominican Republic).

Originally made for a BBC series, Animal Planet turned these first 3 films into the FreeDiver special a few years ago but changes with the network execs seem to have delayed the rest of the films (a further 5) from making it across the pond. Literally everywhere else in the world all the films are shown in their original format, with dubbing. I just got an email from a guy in Lithuania who enjoyed the latest one, so it's a bit frustrating not to have them in North America.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy FreeDiver!

Hi Tanya,

I've seen the Dive Galapagos (loved the penguins) and the one you dived with whales. Which films have I watched? I know the first is Galapagos, but what is the second?

Thanks for the update, Tanya,

Heh, heh, just a reminder to everyone to update the clock on your VCR/DVR, etc. to daylight savings time. Of course mine isn't brainy enough to know about the earlier switchover we have in N America nowadays, and if I hadn't caught it- would have recorded the hour after the Underwater Explorer show

It seems like you have seen Dive Galapagos and Diving With Whales. The remaining films are:-

Dive Caribbean (set in Belize)
Diving With Dolphins (Bahahas)
Shark Therapy 1 (Maldives)
Shark Therapy 2 (Bahamas featuring Tiger Sharks)
Wild Tribes:Reef Gypsies (Indonesia)
Top Wild Dives with Tanya Streeter (Compilation)

I hope that eventually they will all make it to the North American market. They have all done the rounds internationally over the past 4 years and counting!

T (Still messed up by the time change!!)

Wow, so many films to see! Wish they would release them in DVD or something. I doubt all the films will show here in Asia. :( I'm just dying to see them all.
