Greetings...

Im ian (AIDA ***)from aceh, west part of indonesia.
I would like to ask some opinion about open water training in the open sea (drifting), because from the navionic app,the deep water (30m+) only available about 30 minutes from the coastline where the water mostly moving during low tide or high tide (current). is it okay to train during drifting?, or how to do it in safety way? thanks

Works fine as long as there is not much difference in current between surface and the depth you are training.

All south east coast Florida courses are taught drifting in the Gulfstream. Sometimes the boat has to go farther offshore to find water that has no current difference top to bottom. The instructers in my course deployed an X shaped float, so up to 4 teams of divers could train at the same time. Boat driver just hangs around the float.
