i got an orca breath last feb, which it hasn't even been 2 months yet, and the tooth on the zip, i contacted the repair shope that deals with orca wetsuits, the prices were a bet high and a long period of time to get it fixed!

plus the size chart is just wrong, i am 73 kg and the wetsuit size 8 fits me but unconfertable, my body is normal not too high or too wide, plus i know another 2 people had teh same problems with the sizes and having trouble puting the wetsuit on and off

so i paid 400 dollars for a wetsuit that did not last 2 months and the zip is already gone!

been told by the repair craftman that the zip on the orca breath wetsuit are poor, and for a 400 dollars i thought i would get something good, so before you buy just try it on if u can and have a look....

hey Aimesh. I weigh 69Kg and a size 6 is tight, but works, on me. They have a knack to put on properly. I am sure your zip broke because the suit was not on properly before you tried zipping.

try putting it on in the pool, the bags of water created tend to let the suit sit up where it needs too.

thx for the information.

the tooth of the zip got broken when i was taking the wetsuit off, everytime i put the suit on i be under the shower with the blue bags!

i am not a top free driver, but i know that free diving is about relaxtion. so what kind of relaxtion i would get while i am diving with a bloody tight wetsuit lol!

i heard from other people that is the way the wetsuit should be and i still believe that is just weird and this is my own openion.

about the zip, if you compare the orca breath zip to some other brands you will see the differents , the craftman who fixed the zip, his comment was ( i can not believe orca would install a low quality zip) he zipped the wet suit pulled it and the tooth were pulled out!!!!!

in the end of the day, i know that i paid 400 dollars for my wetsuit and i am not happy with what i got at all

Did you do any research on this company or did you just randomly buy something and expect that because it was custom made it should last forever???
You've made it very clear that you've spend 400 bucks on this thing but you havnt made it clear as to why you went with this company or why you wanted a suit with a zipper. Thats just one more thing to go wrong. Get a normal 2 piece like everyone else and get on with your diving.

Might be time for better zips and better build quality too for 400 you should get a good suit. $800 or whatever the free is is just stupid. Would be great if someone could make a affordable flexable hoodless watertight comfortable suit or is it to much to ask.

Kwtony. The orca is not custom made. The reason i did go with this company it is coz i saw that a world record holder were using it. And seems to be it had good mame but i think it was only for the prca free which cost 800 dollars. The reason i bought it. It is to use it in dynamics. As i thought it will be easy to put on and off.

And mate there is nothing last forever. Even if it is a custom made i only expect a suit thst would be comfy and easy on easy off with quality not an iron man suit lol

aimesh. i am not blindly defending Orca here, but I freedive a lot and know many others the same. This is the first zipper fail I have heard of. I was not referring to the blue bags that come with the suit (they will help to get you half way) but the balloons of water inside the suit that you will get putting your suit on in the pool, under the water. They will allow the suit to move and fit perfectly on your body. Try it.

By the way apaza do u wear ur wetsuit everytime in the water? And do u think that a tight wet suit is a good for a free diver ?

Not sure what the breathe uses but the free has riri zips - which is the same company that manufactures for high-end, luxury designer clothes and handbags. So... generally a riri zip means it's top quality...

Well not sure as well but even if it is the same brand it wont be as good quality as the the one get with the orca breath specialy u paying 800 dollars for a not custom made wetsuit. I mean for love of good if u do not get a top quality zip with the free suit than that will be a big bull shit

Kwtony were right. I would prefer to have 2 peice suit . 1.5 m . Just to keep me warm. Easy on easy off no drama with bags or zips

Hi Aimesh, I've been using Orca for years and never had a problem - they are a great suit however a friend of mine with the exact suit used to complain his felt unusally tight around his chest and what do you know the zip broke, he had it fixed but it broke again. The morale here was that it was too tight to begin with. You can get good second hand Orca's from the shop in Auckland however I see you are on the Goldie so that wont help you much.

One of my friends got an orca same size and he 83 kg and never had a problem. I am 73 kg and the do not feel right sround.my neck

U know the funny thing it is the part that go over ur neck and sholders . This thing it alwsys have this tight pull against my neck and always looks funny as it do not set right. My friend never had this isuue i even saw him putting it on with no drama again he is 83 kg and same wetsuit size

You could have gotten one that had a fault perhaps or maybe your body shape is not suited to the cut. i find that with the spearfishing suits.
Actually now you mention the cut around the neck my training buddy has that problem too and he has ripped the side panels that run alongside his ribcage. Shame for you Aimesh that you have had a bad experience with the Orca.

You could send it back to the manufacturer and tell them your story - feedback is important, hopefully they will help you with your problem.
