I wonder if the trend of ordering larger sizes in search of comfort actually results in more discomfort. At least in the case of the hyper style pockets. I'm thinking your foot is not being supported the way the fin builders probably designed them to. If your foot does not reach far enough to the front of the pocket it would seem to not get the correct leverage and if the strap is not tight enough it allows your foot to hang back a bit so that you have a wider meaty part of your foot being sqeesed at the pocket entrance instead of the narrower bony part by your ankle. I've come to the conlusion that if I shaved a bit of the entrance of the pocket and tightened the footsraps it would work much better. I think if I had chosen the size that brought my toes to touch the front of the pocket I would actually have had less squeese, I like the way tropol put up a pdf on thier site showing length, height, width, of how they measure thier pockets instead of the generic and often incorrect sizing used by most manufacturers. At least in my case I don't think its a good idea to put short feet into a long pocket regardless of weather or not my feet may be wide for the smaller size. Any thought on this?
