I was uncomfortable with My 02 tables this a.m. Table 9 is normally not difficult for me. Yesterday I did hypoxic cardio ie. 30 minute stationary bike with a 30 second breathold every minute and thirty seconds followed by 45 minutes of weight training. I train 5 or 6 days a week with swimming, hypoxic cardio, weight training co2 and 02 tables. I try to line dive or spearfish on the weekends as well.... I think I have slipped into overtraining but I don't want to fall back into the opposite direction either (undertraining). Any advice from someone who's "been there and done that" ?

Just trying to consistently hunt at 30 meters with a decent bottom time. I also work and play part time as a Safety Supervisor. Its always bad form for us to have a BO.

hogphish,

you shouldn't be worried about falling back to undertraining because it would take days of inactivity. As long as your goals don't include professional competitive freediving take it easy! Don't waste yourself on training days and give yourself a rest day every now and then.
That training with 30min hypoxic cardio and 45min of weight training, depending on the intensity of weight training could be a bit too hard so take care not to overpush it. Those hypoxic cardios tax you more than you would think so maybe it would be better to do just cardio prior to weight training and keep hypoxic cardio for separate training, at least for a while until you adapt.

Does sound like a lot of training but does depend on the intensity I guess. Make sure you eat well! I wouldn't worry too much about having a bad day, i often have good days and bad days and I hardly train lately, so overtraining is not the reason.

However I am sure you must be over-training a bit because you said it yourself by creating this thread - you know your body best! ;-)

(I haven't been there and done that but I am an expert at undertraining these days lol)

Part of training is resting between training cycles: Do you keep a training diary?
The last time i was head down ass up training both my training partner and myself both found very quickly there was a definate cycle to our training and took advantage of it to improve. But more importantly we found if we ignored this we both very quickly got sick.
We used this cycle to time our training with the last instructor course we done and after the week of evaluation we both came home and crashed with the flue and didn't train for a month afterwards.
as far as blackout goes you are putting yourself at more risk from being fatigued from overtraining.
it should be as simple as eating well, keeping well hydrated, sleeping well, and doing some quality training
