Hey all - has anyone ever tried doing a small ammount of hyper-v (say 5 breaths) and then packing? I did something similar lying down a bit before, and found that the packing increased the feeling of low CO2 (ie tingly fingers) greatly. Is there any medical reason for this? Is it dangerous?

Bear in mind, I don't hyper-v for statics or while diving at all, it was just something I tried.

Yes, loopy, I have experienced the same.

Let me make a guess on the medical reason:

-Hyperventilation causes that the blood-vessles to tighten which restricts blood flow I think.

-Packing restricts bloodflow because the air expands the thorax towards the ribcage and makes less space for bloodflow.

This combination I think increase the symptoms so that we feel more hypocapnic with packing.
