I am not new to freediving, but I am new to this level of it. I wanted someone to explain exactly what packing entails. As I understand it, one breaths in a breath and then takes small gasps which are forced into the lungs. Is this correct?

hi

Hi I would like to know more about packing too.. and who was the first to introduce this in the freediving ? and what is the consequence of this..? and how many packing we can do?

in my case I only pack once-
si alguien tiene alguna explicacion mas sobre esto seria bueno

saludos

Daniel.

The Fattah document explains very well the packing technique for those interested I had translated the Fattah document to spanish and is in my webpage: http://www.geocities.com/taravana_deep/Apnea/Frenzel1.htm
If you want to pack, I recommend to start slowly because the lung packing has some side effects. Start with maximum 5 packs and increase slowly, if you faint, had thoracic pain, stop the increase and try again. If problem persists you should ask your physician.
Personnally I don't think packing is essencial for good performances, I prefer to use it for stretching before performances.

thank you

Thank you Fpernett for the information-- my point is that (the side efect of packing)- I know a few people that had some negative reaccion when doing this..
