So I've experienced something no other diver in my practice group has. After each long dive I have pain in my diaphragm area, feels like lactic buildup. Has anyone else experienced something like this? What should I do about it?

I was thinking that it could be because of resisting contractions?

Hello Killa,

Think of the diaphragm as a normal muscle it gets tired and as we freedive we work this muscle all the time. Depending on how flexible your diaphragm is and how often you freedive, at some point it gets exhausted and needs rest as any muscle works.

In order not to get a exhausted diaphragm easy we need to improve its flexibility by keeping some stretching exercises part of our daily routine and of course by freediving more often.

Try to read about diaphragm flexibility for freediving!

Dive safe and never freedive alone!!!

Regards
