Hello, I have been spearfishing for a few years now, but often when i dive i start to get a pain in my eyebrow, it feels as if i get a needle just above my nose.
If i go deeper it gets more painfull. The pain starts at 2.5meters when i get it. and it does not go away that diving day. *meaning every dive that day deeper then 2 meters hurts!*

What can i do? i searched for "sinus pain" in the search field but could not find mutch.
this happens atleast every 3rd freediving trip, so its frequent.

Thanks for any help or comments :)

You almost certainly have a blocked sinus. Definitely stop diving when you feel it, continuing just makes it worse. Look for something that will reduce congestion, such as, find and fix an allergy, get off milk, try Afrin or Pseudafed or oral antihistamines.

Also, try using a neti pot daily (and 2x daily in the days before a diving trip) and see if this helps.

Makes a world of difference to me.

All the best!

I had this problem even in the pool and I couldnt figure what it was, it was painful as hell. Is there anything that triggers in it general?

Sinus squeeze. I get it a lot. Allergies in the spring are getting worse and worse for me. Also happens when I have a cold.

I take Mucinex (blue box) 3 times the day before and once the morning of the dive. Works for me so far. I try and not rely on taking the medicine if I can help it..... just use it to clear things up and then stay healthy. Netti pot helps too.
