This may look like a stupid question duh ) but answers would be very appreciated.

We would like to promote ou freediving club on our wetsuits and we're looking for type of paint and technique to have logos on both smoothskin and linning.

Thanks to give us some tips,

I'm also interested in this topic, didn't find anything of use with google.
Maybe liquid latex?

There was a thread about painting or dying wetsuits here a while ago, might be worth a search but have you thought about contacting Elios or Spiros, Im sure they would be more than happy to help you out with some basic info

I already asked Elios about the issue of printing logos on wetsuits. They basically told me that it is possible in theory but for each logo a special "chassis" (whatever that may be) has to be produced. So it is very expensive for just a few suits. As I understood "expensive" here means really expensive, not just a little.

I also heard the same information from 2 people, one of them I think was via an email from elios. I think if your gonna do it in bulk, it might not be so bad when you divide the cost but for less than a dozen suits ..... mucho dinero!!!!! creo!!!

hi,

i had my shorty printed with a t-shirt design (whatever paint they use for t-shirts i don't know really). the "chassis" is basically a wooden frame with a very fine screen (net) on one side. your design will be somehow put onto that screen (i just gave the dude a bw photocopy). then the frame is put onto the surface (t-shirt, wetsuit, whateva) and paint is applied with a brush. at least that's what the dude did in thailand. very simple, quite cheap, easy. i don't know how that works on smooth skin suits, though. my suits have nylon on the outside.

costwise it is the screen that is the more expensive part of it.

ps: elios has pre-prepared designs to choose from. when i asked them about it (3 years ago) they had: a penguin, a seastar, a orca whale and a crab.

Take a look in your local phonebook to find a printer that does silkscreening, or look under silkscreening supplies. They will know what needs to be done (types of ink to use, how to set-up the screen, doing the printing, etc.) with what ever design you want, the more color you want the more the cost will be, so keep it simple and it shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg to get the work done.

And painting an entire surface ? can this be done with loss of much flexibility and a durable etc.?

Love, peace and water!
