I'm thinking of painting a pattern disruptive style camo on my black nylon lined suit.

Had anyone tried this? What type of paints would people recommend that was waterproof and flexible enough to not peel off?

All input valued!

I'm exceedingly unartistic unfortunately! The plan is just to do something to breakup the big black mass so anything should help.

Cheers Dave, I'll give it a go.

Tom I didn't know anyone held black masses over here!rofl Seriously though, I'd be interested in doing the same, so let me know how you get on.( Felt tip fabric pens?)

You'd be surprised!

I doubt felt pens would have the strength of colour to cover up the black. I've got some acrylic paint which test patches show goes on alright, just have to wait and see if it stays on in the water.

Hi guys!

Does it apply to nylon lined suits only or for the smoothskin as well? I am thinking about some logo on my smoothskin and was trying to find the right paint too.

there was an article in Hawaiiskindiver Magazine that covered this topic.
its fairly easy to do and you can actually buy the stuff at any walmart.
all you need is a waterbased acrylic ink and a bottle of textile medium.
The textile medium is what makes the paint soft and plyable after it dries.
i painted a wetsuit with brown sandy color and it came out pretty good. Make sure you follow the directions and dont be shy with the textile. If you use too little it can still dry hard. If you use a sponge it makes a pretty good pattern because of the texture.

i know this is an old thread but i was wondering if anyone had good results painting there suits as im looking to do the same and did it effect the wet suit in anyway
