I am back in the water now after having been landlocked for awhile. I have a 17' boat. I don't like to go out unless its relatively calm.
I'm looking for a local dive buddy. This person should be humble, friendly and should live locally. I tend to dive out of Palm Beach (Lake Worth) inlet, weekends and after work.
The currents here are often fast. Ideally I have a guy on the boat that is line fishing while I dive. I don't have an established person for that role. A two person team that consists of a line-fishing captain is very welcome. We'd be learning to manage the risk of our chosen sport, together.
Let's face it, this is not the safest activity in the world. Let's at least limit the level of bravado, be conservative, and supportive.
I think that some competitiveness is fun, but in some ways, it is out of place in free-diving. It is difficult enough to face one's own high expectations of one's self without an outside influence.
I am definately not interested, ever, in spearfishing competitions. I am interested in developing methods of hunting the blue water in Florida.
