Commentary Panama City Beach to Add Three Major Artificial Reefs This Fall

The Florida panhandle has been doing an amazing job of adding artificial reef modules and wrecks -- as mentioned in the article, over 600 so far. It seems like every month or more I see something about them adding more.

For those that don't know, in the Florida panhandle you can go out 30 miles or more (an hour or more by boat) and still usually only have sand -- so these artificial reef structures provide a needed habitat for fish and other creatures, and thereby make the area more attractive for diving and fishing. It's amazing how all types of creatures will fairly quickly start to gather in and around these artificial reefs.
