Hello all! I'm based in Tallahassee and have been exploring some springs around Florida. But recently discovered of new ones! What are your favorite central Florida springs and why?

I love the springs. They are all different but Rainbow River drift dive, Devils Den, Blue/Ginnie, Alexander and King /3 Sisters with manatees stand out. Snorkeling is usually more convenient for me. I have some pics of many of them if you have one in mind.

Yes I would love to see pics! I recently just went to Ginnie Springs and swam in Devils Springs as well. The feeling I get after I finish freediving is so addictive. I'm thinking about going to Vortex this weekend.

It's more convenient for me to go to springs as well. Charters are incredibly expensive and don't cater to freediving and I have no friends with a ocean-worthy boat. Ha. Hopefully later when I meet more people.

I'm most curious about Alexander Springs...

Alexander is one of my favorite. I'll try to find more pics but this one shows that you do have to watch for gators. Blow up pic and look at the bank.

PS I also saw the largest soft-shell turtle I have ever seen there. In the evening as sun was going down. All the critters were leaving the swampy area and swimming through spring to the river. Not a good time to stay in the water if you look like food.
