I hope there is some one out there who knows about pathos spearguns.

I bought a pathos 82 cm. The gun really looks great. But when I used it, it was a disappointment. I think it has a 6,5 shaft and bands of 20 (Is there a website of pathos or isn't it the brand).
It nearly has the same performance of my previous speargun which is very very old and has rust on it. It has a rusted shaft and shorter bands of 16.
Is there anyone who used pathos before. What may be the problem or this should be what I had to expect from this gun. Every single part of the gun really seems like high quality.
I hunt in the shallows, the fish are not so big but so much fast. What modification can I make to my pathos. I think this gun must go like lightning.
Maybe there is a weak spot I am missing. What do you have to say.

In what way is it a disapointment? Does it shoot in a different direction to where you aim?

yes, very little to the right but the my real problem is the poor shaft speed.
I checked and corrected the little deviation in the head.

thickness 19 or 20, length I am not sure , I think 27cm.
black. The bands I have never seen before. Their diameter gets smaller at one end.

Is there a website of the manufacturer of this speargun.
On the gun it says "d'angelo" and on the tube it says "pathos 82".
I couldn't find on the web.

Ive not seen a website, maybe shane or memo will know?
27cm seems very long for a 82cm gun mate, is that the measurement of the overall length of the rubber or the rubber inbetween the 2 screws?

I didn't measure them yet. But I want to believe that every part is balanced with each other. It wasn't so cheap :)
I also have some big scratches on the aluminium tube just in the middle, right under the shaft.

LOL dont worry about scratches, there will be plentymore by the time youve stuck in in a hole or two. Measure those bands, I would imagine them to be about 16 - 18mm diameter and about 18 - 22 cm long (between the inside of the screws) if so your gun should be OK, just a thought, what kind of spear tip do you have?

Cool those 5 prong heads slow the spear down somthing awfull, I think you may be expecting to much from your gun, it should be way fast enough as standard. I have Pathos triggers on my guns and the build quality is fine so I would expect your gun to be similar :)

But I will buy multi prong with 3 head or more, first I will buy a new shaft of course

if your gun is slow on speer speed is it very easy to Load if it is try using shorter rubbers you should be able to load them without extreme discomfort but not too easy either.try seeing how far past your spear notch you can pull the rubbers if its a long way the rubber is probably too long compare the length of rubbers to another gun.
Basicall the rubbers should be maximum 1/3 to minimum 1/4 of the length from where they attach to the front of the gun to the spear notch where the bridle or wishbone will fit when loaded

Try this article by Mark Labocetta, he runs the US side of Omer so should know what he is talking about :)

Hello everybody!!!!

I'm using this gun for over a year and it's great!!!!
BUT... The bands belong to the trushcan. Test it with Practisub Gold 18 mm bands 24 cm long or 22 cm if you want it more powerfull. Or try 18mm Omer latex slings 22 cm long.

The web-site of Pathos is not ready yet. It is a new company. And it is Greek!!!!!

I guess you have the first Pathos... The handle is black-white or just black???
Does it have a rail?

The first generation of Pathos had black and white handle, the second black handle and the third had a rail all across the tube. The third generation of Pathos has tube with 1mm thickness.

Do you need anything else????????? :) rofl :ban

If it shoots in a different direction, the problem is with your line which is attached to the shaft.

Where are you from, Hasha????
How much did you pay for the Pathos???
Here, in Greece the third generation costs about 108 euros and the second about 86 euros.

Chech it out on http://www.diveandfish.gr/en/index.html

You can also chech for the bands I wrote about.

Hasha,

I have used Shorter bands on a 110

For an 82 gun you should be using 22cm bands.

If they are thick 20mm like G20 24cm might also be good.

Your lack of shaft speed is due to this. If this is the only problem dont blame the gun as a lot of ppl change the standard bands the day they buy a new gun.

Some manufacturers dont even sell the guns with bands for the same reason.

Get some shorter rubbers and let us know.

Thank you everyone!
I have shorter bands of Jb Esclapez and will try the gun with these (+ quality shaft lines).
My pathos is all black and I paid 100 Euros for it in Turkey.
It doesn't have a rail all along the gun. There r Two small shaft guides on the handle side and 1 just before the head.

So we have exactly the same gun!!!!
But, mine is 83 cm long. It was 100 cm when I bought it. 6 months later I got 2 carbon spearguns ( Sporasub Instinct & Imerssion Triaxxx) in this length, so I cut the tube and made it 83 cm long.

Let us know when you change the set-up of your speargun, and if it's better.

I also cut the 2 small rails which come just after the handle. But the piece to attach the line is still there. The reason is these rails were 0,8mm higher than the rails in the handle. Now the shaft slides like butter.
